College Possession Quality

Who's earning their results. FairScore, added up over the season for every Division I team: how many points each team's possessions should have produced, per 100 possessions, on offense and defense, adjusted for who they played and where. Luck is the gap between the actual results and the quality of the possessions. Updated every Monday.

Rankings

PQ Net is possession quality on offense minus defense, adjusted for opponents and venue. A team with high positive luck has been getting more than its possessions earned, so expect it to come back to the pack; a team with negative luck has been better than its record. Filter by team or conference.

PQ Off and PQ Def are points per 100 possessions earned and allowed, opponent-adjusted; lower defense is better. Small numbers rank each across Division I. Luck is actual net scoring minus unadjusted possession quality, per 100 possessions. Teams need three D1 games to be ranked.
